5. When we share information
We may share only information needed for the relevant service with:
- Payment service providers used at checkout.
- Delivery and fulfilment companies that ship orders.
- Website hosting, IT support, security and email service providers.
- Professional advisers, regulators or authorities when required by law.
- Analytics or advertising service providers, but only where those tools are enabled and used lawfully.
These organisations may act as processors under our instructions or as independent controllers for their own services. We do not sell customers’ personal information.
Some services may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer is made, we use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism or rely on an applicable adequacy arrangement, as required.
6. How long information is kept
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer support, dispute handling and applicable tax or accounting obligations. Order records may need to be retained after an account is closed where a legal requirement applies.
Where no fixed period is required, we determine retention by considering the purpose, sensitivity of the data, security needs, potential disputes and the relevant legal requirements. When no longer needed, information is deleted or anonymised securely.
7. Keeping information safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to our website and the information it holds. These may include encrypted website connections, restricted administrative access, software updates and security monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Facebook and Meta app: Chargers Hunt product posting
We use a business-controlled Meta application to publish selected product images, names, prices and links from the Chargers Hunt WooCommerce store to our official Facebook Page.
- The application uses an authorised business access token to manage publication to the Chargers Hunt Facebook Page.
- It is intended for publishing our products and is not intended to require customers to sign in with Facebook.
- It does not need customers’ private Facebook profile information to create product posts.
- If you interact with us through Facebook, Meta may handle your activity under Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Information customers provide directly in messages, comments or enquiries may be used by us to respond to that communication. We do not publish private customer details through the automated product-posting feature.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be entitled to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion or restriction of information where legally applicable.
- Object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Request data portability where applicable.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
To exercise your rights, use our Contact page or the postal details below. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
10. Facebook app data deletion instructions
If you believe our Meta application has processed personal information relating to you and would like us to delete it where legally applicable, you can send us a request:
- Open our Contact page.
- Use the subject “Facebook App Data Deletion Request”.
- Explain the relevant interaction and identify the information you want deleted. Do not send passwords or access tokens.
- We will review the request, verify identity where necessary, and delete relevant information under our control unless we must retain it for a lawful reason.
The automated product-posting application normally processes the store’s product details and our business Page credentials rather than private customer Facebook profile data. Information controlled separately by Meta must be managed using Facebook’s privacy tools.
